Description:
Kanamycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic and is a second-line anti-tuberculous drug. It is used in treatment of drug-resistant tuberculosis in conjunction with other anti-tuberculosis agents. Since the drug has a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity, besides killing effect on mycobacteria, it is effective for treatment and prevention of secondary infection.
