Description:

Cefoperazone is a third generation cephalosporin with activity against most clinically significant gram-negative bacteria, as well as some gram-positive bacteria and anaerobes. Its dual elimination pathway is an important advantage of the drug product. Due to its high concentrations in the bile, Cefoperazone is especially effective in therapy of cholecystitis, cholangitis, hepatic abscess, and biliary sepsis.
