Description:
Levofloxacin is a synthetic antibacterial agent of the fluoroquinolone class. High activity against the most clinically important respiratory pathogens, including multi-drug resistant strains of pneumococci, pharmacokinetic advantages and proven clinical and microbiological efficacy allow considering Levofloxacin as a first-line antimicrobial drug for treatment of severe lower respiratory tract infections in adults. Specific indications for Levofloxacin is therapy of drug-resistant forms of tuberculosis (as part of a multiple-drug therapy). It is distinguished by the most favorable tolerability and a low incidence of side effects.
