Description:
Dextran 70 is a plasma volume expander. Given intravenously, it is distributed throughout the body in much the same way as the patient’s serum. Clinical uses include plasma expansion in hypovolaemia, that can result from surgery, trauma or injury, severe burns, or other causes of bleeding, as well as antithrombogenesis and hemodilution.
