Description:
Hemostatic effect of Aminocaproic acid is associated with fibrinolysis inhibition through inhibition of plasminogen binding to fibrin and subsequent conversion to plasmin, which in turn inhibits fibrinolysis. Aminocaproic acid is one of the effective hemostatic drugs of systemic action, as well as allows to avoid a blood transfusion, and therefore, reduces the risk of transfusion reactions. It is used in numerous clinical situations to control bleeding.
