Description:

Selezolid is a synthetic antibiotic belonging to the oxazolidinone group. It is mainly active against Gram-positive bacteria, including MRSA and VRE. Selezolid is used in the treatment of a wide variety of clinical infections, including penicillin-resistant S. pneumoniae (PRSP), bone and joint infection and endocarditis known or suspected to be caused by susceptible Gram-positive bacteria. Linezolid is identified as an effective drug with which to treat patients failing multidrug-resistant (MDR)-tuberculosis (TB) treatment.
